Cru Richard Roethel

Welcome Cru Richard Roethel born November 21, 2010. 8 lbs. 1 oz. 20.5 inches long! We are so excited that our little man decided to join us on Sunday! It was a long hard delivery, but he was so worth it. Since his shoulder was caught during delivery he had swallowed some fluid and developed an infection. So he spent three days in the NICU. Not fun for me. We are so glad that we have him home and that he is now healthy! Here is him and Grandpa and Cru and his ever so proud big sister she can't get enough of him. Lots to be thankful for on this Thanksgiving!

Fall update

Wow I am so glad that summer is over and it can be my favorite time of year! I am loving that it is finally cooling off. Me and this pregnant belly are so happy! Updates on what is going on with us.

MaKayla is loving school she is so excited to go see her friends everyday. She is loving reading and we are reading everything. I get the question from her all the time. Mom how do you spell this or how do you spell that? I am loving that she wants to learn everything. She is playing soccer again and once again is on an all boys team plus her. I keep telling her that she is going to be so much better than all the girls when she plays on an all girls team next year. She is also enjoying Tumbling, we are trying to keep her busy.( I think that it is a good idea now till I have a new born thrown in the mix.) We enjoy her laugh and her sense of humor.

Marc has been super busy with work. We hardly see him anymore. I think that he is trying to get a ton done before the baby comes so he can spend time at home with us. He is enjoying football season and loves that he can go to his REAL soccer games. He is not looking forward to winter.

Me I am getting huge, I am ready for our new little man to come. I am so excited that we are having a boy! I have a to-do list a mile long. One thing at a time. Life is good for us not much else to report.

One last trip before we have our new little guy!

We decided to take one last family vacation just the three of us before our new little guy is born. We decided to go to San Diego since my parents and Pam and her family were going to be there. We left on thursday and drove to Mesquite. This was interesting because we were probably the only family staying in our hotel. Not to mention we were probably the only people under the age of 60. We had a good time though. Kayla went swimming and was able to jump on the beds.

The next day we had an early start so we could make it to San diego in good time. The drive was great and we made it in plenty of time to go to the Beach which MaKayla decided was her favorite place and never wanted to leave. We spent this day with my parents since Pam's family was still in Disneyland!

Kayla and Grandma picking up shells, Grandpa with the boogie board, and Marc at his happiest no shirt on.

When Pam's family arrived we went to sea world which was totally for me! I love sea world. We had a great time seeing all the fun animals. After we went back to the beach and played in our clothes and were totally soaked and sandy. We went to Old Town for dinner so good! They had a great band playing and it was so fun!

Picture with O.P. the sea otter and petting the Rays.

Now for Marc's reason he agreed to go on the trip. Off to a Chargers game. Neither one of us are Chargers fans but I love me some Eric Weddle. My dad is a fan so it was even better for him. They won and we had great seats. One last time to the beach for Kayla. It was the best time to go to the beach because we actually got to see a family of Dolphins swimming and playing while we were there. That is even better than sea world cause they looked so happy! off to dinner at Kansas City BBQ yummy than off to bed.

We had a very long car ride home. I am glad that we took the trip but there is no place like home!

Life is quiet!

Wow I didn't realize how much I depend on MaKayla for companionship during the day! The past two days have been so different for me. I know that I should really enjoy the time to myself cause in a few short months there will be a baby to take up all my time. I just don't know what to do.... Here is a list of things that I have come up with to keep me busy.

Organize a room a week. ( my only problem is I have a really little house so in all this should take about two weeks.)
That is it. Let me know if you have any other ideas. In theory when I was working I used to wish for time like this, But I can't remember what I always said I would do.

First Grade

It's official MaKayla started first grade today! I am doing better than I thought. I cried myself out last night so I am okay today! She was so excited to see all of her friends and her teacher seems really nice! It will be hard to have her gone all day long. She has been my partner in crime for so long.

good luck baby! I know that you will do great!

vacation to northern California Day 6,7, and Home

Day six was my favorite day! we went to a beach called Glass Beach. It is a place in Fort Bragg, It used to be a dump in the twenties. In the fifties they discovered that all the glass that had been dumped there had been polished from the sand and waves it became a tourist attraction. It is now a beautiful beach. We collected sea glass and watched the seals sun themselves on the rocks.

Day Seven was spent relaxing at the condo that we had for the family it was a lazy day.

Come home we woke up at 4 in the morning to make it on time to the airport. We made it just in time for our flight.

We had a great time with Marc's family. thanks to his parents we had a great vacation!

vacation to northern California Day 5

The fifth day I didn't take any pictures even though I should have. We spent the day in Discovery Kingdom 6 flags. Kayla will tell you that this was her favorite part of the trip. I would say it was my least favorite. Not fun going to a theme park when you are pregnant.

vacation to northern California Day 4

The Fourth Day we went to an Oakland A's game and enjoyed the sunshine. It amazes me how many people were at a 12:30 game on a Wednesday afternoon.

After the game we went to Muir Woods. The Redwoods are Huge. I couldn't believe how beautiful it was. very peaceful and relaxing!

Vacation to northern California Day 3

The third day was spent in San Francisco. It was very fun and it was cold.

Vacation to northern California Day 1,and 2

This was the begining of our Roethel family vacation to northern California. The first day was spent in the SLC airport trying to fly out we all flew standby so for 10 hours we waited for a flight. The next day we went to the Jelly Belly factory it was lots of fun!
