Catching Up

SO I haven't blogged for little bit it has been a busy week. I am so glad that Christmas is over. I has such a good time but I am glad that things are getting back to normal. Well as normal as they can around here. I posted our pictures from all that we had done this month. I am so looking forward to a new year.

So yesterday we went to our little friend Coppers birthday party we had allot of fun. We even got to ride on the razor in the snow. Now for those of you who really know me i love 4-wheeling, and all that stuff that only boys are supposed to love. so this little ride for me was so much fun. I got off and told Marc that I wanted one. Here are some pics of the fun. thanks Woody for taking us on the rides.

You want What?

So my Sweet MaKayla I love her so. The things that she comes up with. The things that she says that puts me in stitches this was one that takes the cake.....

She is so smart and she is testing this whole Santa thing this year to see if what she asks he will really bring her. So we went to see Santa at South Towne mall. It was finally our turn. She is so excited and I can tell that through the line she has been thinking the whole time for what she is going to ask him for. She is impressed that he knows her name when we walk up. She looks at him sits on his lap. He says MaKayla I know that you have been good this year. She says Yep. What so you want Santa to bring you for Christmas? Santa I want a Spa Kit ( Which by the way she is not getting. It is for kids like 10 and older and was like 80$ nope not this gift.) Santa I also want a Vampire puzzle. You want What? A vampire Pillow? No Santa a Vampire Puzzle. Okay since you have been so good you will get one from Santa. Santa looks at me like I have lost my mind. What Parent would teach their child at age four to ask for a Vampire Puzzle? This was not from me. She has had this obsession since Halloween and we can't get away from Vampires.

Ugh So because of this little play out of asking Santa for a Vampire puzzle I have searches High and low for one. There is no such thing for Christmas. I am pretty sure that if she had told me that she wanted one back around Halloween no Problem. So the moral of this story is that I am thankful that my Dad is so Handy he is helping me make one for her so that he faith in Santa isn't altered.

Roethel Family Fun night

So last night was our Annual Roethel Family Christmas outing. We normally go to a movie but this year we decided to go see the lights. We started out at my in-laws house having yummy soup in bread bowls. Then went to see the lights on Temple square. It hasn't really felt like Christmas yet this year. I have been having a hard time getting in the Christmas spirit. Last night seeing the Nativity and the Christ statue put it in perspective. I had lots of fun and it wasn't too cold. I am Now ready for Christmas. Our Cute Family

Accident Prone

So this week has been rough on me. Monday it snowed so I went out to shovel our driveway. While doing that I pinched a nerve in my arm. So my arm has been hurting. Tuesday I was over at my parents house trying to take care of my mom who had a major Kidney infection. I fell off their front porch and hurt my ankle really bad. So instead of me taking care of my mom she ended up taking care of me. I called Marc and told him that he needed to lock me in a padded room for my sanity and so I wouldn't get hurt. Knowing me I would end up getting hurt anyway.

BLACK FRIDAY

I for one love this day! I could do without getting up early,But it was worth it for the deals. I love the rush when the doors open and everyone is flying to get what they set out to get. I love the drama of people trying to cut in lines and getting tackled by security guards. I especially love the feeling when I am done shopping and I get everything that I had hoped and set out to get. I can say that I am 80% ready for Christmas.

After the shopping I even put up my tree. Tomorrow we will see about the outside lights. I have pictures from thanksgiving and of my tree but I left my camera at my parents so they will have to come later.

I hope that everyone else had a very successful BLACK FRIDAY!

Twilight

So last night was the premier of Twilight. I am not one of these people that is obsessed with this book. Don't get me wrong I really enjoyed reading them, but I know that the characters aren't real. I really think that some of these women believe that Edward is going to come to their bedrooms and fall in love with them. I get a kick out of these people. We had allot of fun on girls night out. We went and got pedicures and even Kayla got her toes painted she was so excited to be one of the big girls. After getting beautified we went to the Cheesecake factory for dinner. Big mistake every women going to see the premier was there. We waited for an hour and a half to get in. The food was great and the Strawberry shortcake was even better. After that we went to the premier. The girl that was in charge of getting us tickets was a one of those people I was referring to before and made us all dress up to be there. I was not happy about that I was wishing the whole time that I was in my PJ's. It was midnight after all. The movie was wonderful and I would Highly recommend it to anyone. I forgot my camera last night but here are some pictures of Kayla's cute toes.

Time to give thanks

Now that Halloween is over and the craziness of that holiday has stopped. I have been reflecting on the things to come. I have decided to just blog about what I am grateful for. I love that we have a time of year that gives us the opportunity to give thanks and be grateful.
I love that we live in this country of choice. That we all have opinions and can express them freely even if our neighbors and friends disagree. I can go to church and choose what church to go to without people telling me how to worship. I love that I have a family and a home that feels so warm when I get there. I am grateful for my job as a mom that I get to hear every day mom, mom, mom and when I finally say what buzz she says I love you. I am grateful for parents who are not only great parents but great friends. I have three best friends besides my husband that I get to also call sisters. I have a husband who loves me for everything that I am and even what I look like in the mornings. I have in-laws that treat me like I am a daughter and not just a daughter-in-law. I have the freedom to buy the things that I need and also the things that I just want. I can Cheer for the Utes even though BYU is the churches school. ( I had to add that in.) I am just feeling so grateful and I am sure that my list will grow as I reflect this month on these things.

Sleeping Vampire

So yesterday after church Kayla crawled up on our chair in the family room and fell fast asleep. I thought she looked so cute. I came up stairs and was talking to Marc about her falling asleep cause she doesn't take naps anymore unless she is super tired. After our conversation Marc went downstairs to look at her. He came running up the stairs "Kelli Quick where is the camera?""She fell asleep with her vampire teeth in." I was laughing so hard we took this picture as proof. It was sad when she woke up cause her mouth hurt so bad but it was cute that she loves them so much.

(We got the teeth in Brigham city with Patti and Bryan at a Trick or Treat in the Park.)

Halloween Fright Lights and Crafts

So if you haven't noticed we love Halloween. When there are fun things to do that involve Halloween I am there. Kayla and I decided that we needed to do some Halloween crafts. So we went to the craft store. Not by Kayla's choice she is afraid of the Halloween decor inside the store. Once we were there she decided that it wasn't that bad. So we bought these ghosts and puffy things. We got home and I can't find my hot glue gun since the move it is lost. So we only got to make the ghosts since they had self adhesive stuff for them. It was really fun I haven't got them hung up yet once I do there will be pics. But here are some of Kayla making them.

Thursday Night before Patti and Bryan went Camping with my parents we went to fright lights. It was a last minute thing they told me that they were going so I invited me and Kayla to go along . It was really fun and the kids had fun. They liked everything but the corn Maze. Not because it was scary but because they warned us when we went in that there might be a skunk in
there. We never found the skunk or the end of the maze for that matter. We made it half way through and got all turned around and ended right back at the start by that time we were all ready for it to be over. I would love to go to it again except that it is all the way up in Logan. I love Halloween fun.
