I love July

So July is like the greatest month ever. My favorite holiday is the 4Th. I get so excited when it comes around. We had the start this weekend. It was Taylorsville Dayzz this weekend. Marc is from Taylorsville so it is kinda tradition. His Sister Kelsee's birthday is on the second so she thinks that it is a kickoff for her birthday celebration. We let her believe that. It is really fun they have a parade and stuff at the park like most Utah celebrations but this year they had a Neil Diamond impersonator He was awesome. I guess that he is the Vegas act for Neil. I would pay to see him again. Than they had a great fireworks show. Kayla for some odd reason hates fireworks. It can't be from me because I have been a pyro since I can remember. It was really fun though.

We also went to see Wall-E it was not my favorite. I don't recommend it. It was cute but you know? Kayla fell asleep and that child never falls asleep. We went with my whole family so it was fun to be together. I love weekends and I know that this month will hold some busy ones.

BBQ weekend

Well it was a long and fun weekend. We finally got Kayla to ride her new bike it took a lot of convincing that she was going to be okay if she rode it and that we would hold on to her until she got comfortable with it. Now we can't get her off of it! Friday night we hung out with Marc's uncle and Aunt who are only two years older than Marc. Their kids are Kayla's age and had a BBQ, and went to a movie in the Park. We saw Shrek the third and had a really fun time.

Saturday we relaxed and it was so nice just to hag out for a bit. Kayla of course wanted to ride her bike again. So we went out in the hot sun and sweat ed around the block. We went to Patti and Bryan's for another BBQ and went to the drive in to see Kung Fu Panda and the Love Guru. Both great shows.

Sunday was another eventful day we went to church then to a shower for my cousin. After we went up in canyons for once again another BBQ with Marc's family. Since I had the shower they had already eaten so we BBQ'd and ate while they watched us. it was exciting. I am all BBQ'd out no more for awhile.

FUN in the Hot Sun

So I had a brilliant idea today! Well kind of I decided that we should all go to the Gateway and run through the fountains with all the kids. Because we are all poor and needed something to get all of the kids out of the house because they are bored already! So We went to the fountains. My daughter thinks this is a great idea till we get there than she wants nothing to do with the water. Here she is all stressed about having to get her face wet. She is such a girly girl. All the other kids had a great time.
They all thought that it was great! after we got kicked out of our nice shady spot because it was supposedly a walkway we left. On to our next adventure. No really we had a lot of fun it is hard sometimes to keep track of all 6 at the same time but it is fun to get together.

Temporary Insanity

So I have decided that today I went insane! I think that it was out of guilt that I decided that I was going to make MaKayla a birthday cake. I missed her Birthday yesterday because I was doing a wedding.

So today I decided that I was going to get all the stuff and make it look professional. My mom and I headed to Gigi's to look for candy Jewels to go on the princess crown cake to go with the Enchanted theme that Kayla picked. Of course they don't have them so we decide we can make Candy Jewels. That is where it went downhill.

We made it home I started to make the cake. I thought that we had everything. Big surprise no eggs. so I have to run to the store I finally get back and get started. The cake pan that I purchased is huge so I made two cakes to go in the pan. I put them in the oven and the pan overflows as it is cooking. My mom is making candy and got impatient and turned up the heat and burned the candy. I got impatient and the cake fell. So we fix the cake with frosting and start a new batch of candy. Since the cake overflowed in the oven we decide to turn on the self cleaning mode. the house fills with smoke and heats up. So as I am frosting the cake it is melting. I had to keep stopping and cooling off the frosting. So this semi easy cake that I thought turned into a 3 hour project.

We finally finished the candy. They turned out great and finished frosting it and I think that it turned out cute. Long story short I know why I buy cakes every year from the store! I also think that it would be good for me if I invested in cake decorating lessons.

Kayla looks happy with it.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAKAYLA

This is her opening her presents today!

I can't believe that my baby turned 4 today! She is so big and so much fun! I love being her mom and having her ask me soooooo many questions. I love that she is learning and growing everyday! I love that she has to be going and doing all the time. she has such a fun personality and makes me laugh more than 10 times a day! She is learning to get her way no matter what. She has learned that her daddy is the soft touch if she wants things she has to go give him a big kiss and it is hers. She makes friends so easily and is very social. She can always make me smile even when I am grumpy! I am so lucky to be her mom! Happy Birthday baby!

Here is her new bike!

Hair cut

Today I decided that it was time for MaKayla to get a hair cut. This is scary for me because she has never had short hair before. We have trimmed her hair lots of times, but never cut it short. So because I had my hair appointment today she came with me and got her hair cut. I cried when she cut it. I do think that it will be easier to do and that the crying when we have snarls in her hair will be less so I hope that it is a good thing. my one peace of mind is that hair grows back!

Dance Concert

Daddy and Kayla after the concert
Kayla is the one all the way to the left doing her own thing

Trophy and flowers she was so happy to be the center of attention.

These are a small taste of the fun Dance concert on Saturday night. I love that I have her in Dance but the place she takes it from is ridiculous when it comes to concert day! They make you sit through all of the other classes, and all of the teachers grand kids doing dances it is forever. This year after Kayla's Dances I snuck backstage stole her trophy off the table and we left and had a great fun dinner with everyone at Joe's Crab shack it was great!
